Mystical & Gnostic
Mystical
The Australian Church of Antioch is also accepting of the Mystical side of existence, and will happily engage in dialogue with those who wish to explore this side of the cosmos. The Gnostics of old had great knowledge of the inner side of worship, and we are endeavouring to find that side of things once again. This gives us a deeper understanding of the working of the Eucharist and the inner life of Jesus and his followers. Such things as re-incarnation are all available in the New Testament if one looks for it --- See Mathew 14:11. The disciples said Master, who is John the Baptist ---is he Elijah returned. Is this not re-incarnation pure and simple? this and many other clues lurk within the good book. Many other orders throughout history such as Rossicrucians, Templars, Cathars have a place in our investigation and we are happy to have those who wish to investigate these avenues in our midst. Some of the most famous people in history were members of Mystical and/or Esoteric lodges, to name a few --- Leonardo de Vinci, Isaac Newton, Johaan Bach, Franz List, Roger Bacon, William Shakespeare, Nostrodamus, Dr. Dee, Francis of Assisi, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Ghandi and countless others. Also remember that Jesus, Joseph, Mary were all Essenes, and this is a well established fact. What is seldom spoken of, and literally ignored by the Church hierarchy, is that the Essenes were simply Jewish Druids. |
Esoteric
We will happily discuss Astral Travel, Spiritualism, and all other pathways to God as perceived by you. We hold that there are many pathways to God's mansion, and we are but one of those pathways. We realise that there are things we do not yet understand, and we are happy to consult with others that we may learn. Our Epistles and Gospels read in our Mass reflect our diverse source of wisdom. With this in mind we have taken Gospels of wisdom from such sources as Hindu, Indigenous American people, wiccans, Buddhist, Sufi --- these are but a few of the origins. Not all philosophies other than Christian are composed of folk with primitive attitudes towards the spiritual existence. I quote +++Herman Spruit when he said "CHRISTIANS DO NOT HAVE A MONOPOLY ON WISDOM". That said there are the usual unevolved of humanity that would do anything to pursue the cravings of their physical desires, but that does not mean we should lose sight of the better folk who are genuine in their love of humanity and worship God on their own way. In the words of Joseph of Arimithea when asked about the pagan Druids in England said ...... "Because others have different ways it does not make them evil. the birds do not condemn the fish for swimming, and the fish do not condemn the birds for flying. To each their own way. Let each live out their allotted time in their allotted custom. Let us all live in peace, but understand we must all take our own path to God" |
